Alli is a new over-the-counter weight-loss pill which, predictably enough, has proven to be a massive best-seller from the moment it became available. The drug, manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline, reportedly works by blocking the absorption of excess fats by the body. And folks are waddling, not walking, to their local drug stores for a chance to start on the Alli "program."

There are many rumors spread that the FDA has decided to allow GlaxoSmithKline's weight-loss drug, "Alli" to be sold OTC (over the counter—without a prescription). After reviewing a study which revealed that Alli is capable of helping people lose 1 pound per month which is a legal drug now.

The working of Alli Diet Pill

Just as Xenical, Alli contains a drug called “Orlistat.” In really simple terms, orlistat absorbs the fat from foods you eat every day, from fast food to ice cream. There are two ironies with such a wonder drug:

  • If you don’t eat healthy, you will pop a steak and feel just fine because you swallowed some Alli.
  • If you already eat healthy, Alli will block your healthy fats such as omega-fatty-acids and Vitamin D

A person is reportedly limited to 15 grams of fat per meal, and if they go over (or even if they don't), there's a significant chance they'll find themselves out behind a shopping center somewhere, crying and clutching a wad of horrifyingly soiled undergarments, searching for a place to ditch it.

Where to Buy Alli Pills

You can get it from Brooks Pharmacy, the Alli 60 capsule starter kit for $50.00. A little pricey considering the recommended dose is 3 pills per day making this bottle of Alli 10 days shy of a full month supply.

How To Take the Alli Pills

By cutting your fat calorie intake and lowering your portion size you usually begin to lose weight anyway. By adding Alli to your weight loss program you will see your weight loss increases by 50%.

The Review

As our readers know by now, when reviewing a diet pill, we always stress that the vast chunk of any weight loss plan is a healthy diet and exercise. This pill takes away from a healthy diet, and promotes unhealthy eating habits.

As part of an overall weight loss program, alli works in conjunction with behavior modification to achieve a calorie balance that is both nutritionally sound and conducive to weight reduction.

Alli is the only OTC drug for weight loss that is FDA approved. It has a non-systemic mechanism of action. The unique molecular structure of alli enables it to bind to and inactivate some GI lipases, which aid in the digestion of dietary fats (triglycerides). Alli diet drug binds to gastric and pancreatic lipases, blocking absorption of about 25% of consumed fat. Undigested fat is excreted from the body instead of turning into stored fat. The absorption of carbohydrates and proteins is not affected. Alli is not an appetite suppressant nor does it impact the heart or nervous system. It is minimally absorbed, and there is no residual effect once the drug is stopped.
